Providing Daily Visits

This business fulfills a 28 year old dream. I've been an animal lover my whole life starting with my first dog at 5 years old. My love of animals matured as I attended Iowa State University and received a Bachelors degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology. I completed two summer internships as a zookeeper at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, NE and the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, IA. Over the years, I've learned to never ever turn your back on an alligator and to always check your boots before you put them on. Ask me how I know!

In my early years after undergraduate school I worked as a receptionist/vet assistant/lab tech at a vet clinic in Denver, Colorado. After completing my masters at Penn State University in Animal Science, I began my professional career as a Fisheries Biologist with the federal government in California. In 1995, I moved to the Atlanta area as a Natural Resource Planner for another federal agency. However, as much as I've enjoyed my career in natural resources, I've never given up on my dream - caring for people's pets.

I moved to the Tucson area 6 years ago with the Forest Service but retired in June of 2020. I  currently share my home with two cats and five dogs (and yes, I'm beginning to believe they own the house and I'm just the hired help).

Providing Daily Visits

I moved to Tucson in 2020 mid pandemic. My husband and I lived in Vancouver Wa. for 32 years but wanted to change our Lives so welcome to Tucson. I have run my own businesses as a Nanny, Daycare provider, and Infant Teacher. I found that this takes patience and stamina with a whole lot of love and understanding. Over the years, we have had many dogs in our lives, ones we got for the family, like Irish Setters, a Bloodhound, a Boxer and plenty of pound pups. Of course we had the strays the kids found; and then had to return even with all the sad faces, kids and pups.

I recently fostered an older dog for Cherish Tails Senior Foster Care and he was like my own. I have a great deal of compassion for the pets and respect for the bonds that owners have for them. I am dedicated to ensuring that each pet is safe and happy under my care. Over the years I have picked up a great deal of knowledge regarding the care and welfare of pets and I am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge base. I am enjoying working with Rose. She has so much knowledge that she shares as a partner and friend.

Providing Daily Visits

For all of my life there has always been a pet by my side. Needless to say, my love and caring for animals has been lifelong. I was brought up in an animal loving family and the mantra was “you can have the pet as long as you take care of it”. There was a limit on numbers but at various times I have cared for dogs, cats, lab rats, guinea pigs, turtles, fish, rabbits, and birds from Cockatoos to parakeets.

In my teen years, neighbors, friends, and relatives knew how I cared about animals and would ask me to care for their pets. Pet sitting wasn’t even a career opportunity back then. My career path includes over 20 years in nursing, both inpatient and homecare settings. I have found that my nursing skills and intuition has been helpful in recognizing and caring for my own pets that have had seizures, Addison’s Disease and pancreatitis. Our furry pets are really not all that much different from us in ailments they may develop!

Caring for other people’s pets has always been a joy for me whether in my home or their home. Joining the team of Watchdog Pet Sitting Services helps fulfill my desire of being around and interacting with animals. The philosophy of Watchdog Pet Sitting Services also aligns with my own personal philosophy that all pets deserve to be cared for and treated as well as our own pets. In addition, I promise to respect and care for your home while you are away.

Providing Daily Visits & Overnight Stays

Spending most of my life in the Midwest (Ohio and Indiana), I have come to cherish the values that are still ingrained there. Integrity, honesty, love thy neighbor as thy self, etc. 2021 saw a dramatic change in my life as I retired from my full-time job of selling advertising, which I had been doing for 30+ years. Not long after that, both of my trusty companions crossed the rainbow bridge and I decided to volunteer at the Pima Animal Care Center (PACC), working in a special unit known as “Safety Net”. This program caters to folks that have had life events which make it necessary to have their pets fostered for a period of time, while they get back on their feet. Seventeen dogs later, I haven’t had one I didn’t bond with, and with a number of them it was a bit emotional when their owners were ready to take them back. It is my belief, I am bestowed with a natural gift of connecting with dogs, which helps me in their care. Maybe it was my mother, a pre-school teacher for over 40 years. After all, there are some real similarities between small children and dogs…they love unconditionally, they see life through excited eyes and they need us to survive. When I am not taking care of dogs, I am an avid photographer, golfer and world traveler. My wife of 38 years is an RN and attorney looking to join me in retirement in the next year. I also work part-time at a local Ace Hardware finding solutions to those pesky household problems. You can count on me to care for your animals in a safe, responsible and loving manner.

Providing In-Home Boarding

Being from Mississippi, “yard dogs” were my closest pets as a child, but the older I get, the more animals seem to find their way out of the yard – and into my home (and heart).

For nearly 20 years, I worked in public education before making a career change to corporate training development. I once had a part-time job as a nutrition rep for a pet food company, which turned out to be a really fun and rewarding gig for me because I got to play with dogs all day while talking to pet owners about food and nutrition, often trouble-shooting ingredients that might help improve their pet’s health or behavior.

As an animal lover, I have rescued various critters over the years – dogs, turtles, bunnies, birds, snakes, and once a javelina! I have a special fondness for small dogs as I nursed my four aging seniors through some complicated health conditions until they took turns crossing the rainbow bridge throughout 2024. Between my teaching background and this experience, I have learned immense patience and empathy for the well-being of others and I feel I have become an expert senior dog caretaker.

I met Rose and her dog Peanut in October 2024. Peanut basically became a dog-sitter for my dog Maddy, who was depressed after becoming an only dog for the first time in her life. After then losing Maddy, I started walking my neighbor's dog and even fostered a family of cats that managed to adopt me. After that, I thought how great it would be to have animals around more often again. So here I am – excited to meet you and your fur babies soon!

Providing Daily Visits & Overnight Stays

I served in the USAF for 23 years and retired from the Florida Department of Corrections after serving 15 years as a Correctional Officer. After retiring in 2013, I moved to sunny Tucson.

I enjoy the great outdoors, going to estate sales, flea markets, etc. but most of all I enjoy animals. For several years, I volunteered at PACC (Pima Animal Care Center) as a pet walker, mentor and foster mom.  I also pet sit for family, friends and neighbors. Please reach out if you need someone to spoil your fur babies as much as you do.

Providing Overnight Stays

I’m a Pacific Northwest native now finishing school here in Tucson while working as a flight attendant. I’ve always been surrounded by dogs—I’ve had them growing up and have brought home more than my fair share of strays over the years. Now, I’m the proud dog-mom of a super-needy Bloodhound, who has taught me all about patience and attention to detail when it comes to pets.

Being a flight attendant, I know how important it is to have someone reliable to care for your furry friends when you’re away. I understand that pets are family, and I bring a lot of love and care into every pet-sitting job I take. I’m here to make sure your pets feel happy, safe, and comfortable while you’re gone.

There’s never been a time in my life without animals, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. From cats and dogs to hamsters, rabbits, fish, birds, and even a snake, I’ve shared my life (and my sofa) with all kinds of furry, feathered, and scaly companions.

These days, I volunteer at Rescue Me Marana, working hands-on with both dogs and cats. My husband and I currently share our home with four cats, and an ever-rotating roster of fosters.

I’m endlessly patient when they need calm and gentle, and a total hype person when it’s time to play. Whether we’re having a zoomies session in the yard or a quiet cuddle on the floor, I meet animals where they are.

I’ve worked with pets dealing with health conditions, and I’m totally comfortable giving medications and managing special routines. If your pet needs structure, silliness, or just someone who “gets it,” I’m here for that.
